Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may be a staunch supporter of increased fuel efficiency standards and weaning America off of its dependency on oil, but he did his campaign no favors last week after being spotted in a gas-guzzler Dodge Challenger. The vehicle, which gets only 13mpg — and is a further symbol of Detroit’s out-of-touch mentality, is a throw-back to the Dodge Charger made famous by The Dukes of Hazard television show in the ’70s and ’80s. On CBC Newsworld today the CBC's reporter, Paul Hunter, said "About half the Afghans turned and fled, so there's clearly some work to be done see box at right in link below]." But now he's rather changed the words he uses in print--see bolded bit below. Canadian and Afghan troops moved into the forests and orchards surrounding the city of Kandahar on Wednesday, battling with Taliban fighters who infiltrated the area, officials said. Okay I know this isn't exactly a news article, but I thought it merited a post to digg anyway. These guys claim to offer a service in which you pay for gas now at market price, and redeem the points at a number of authorized fuel stations when the prices go up.
